Printing Graphics Instructor/Davie County High School
What do you do in the Graphic Communications Industry?
Teacher high school students about the major printing processes as well as basic pre-press, press, and bindery skills.
Explain a bit about yourself.
I majored in Graphic Arts at Appalachian State University and went on to become an offset press assistant and later a press operator at Hutchison-Allgood Printing in Winston-Salem. After nearly 5 years on press I chose to enter the education field. I served a short stint as a technology facilitator at a middle school before becoming a Printing Graphics instructor at Davie High School. I started at the high school in January of 2006.

Charles,
I am not seeing you in the membership listing for the International Graphic Arts Education Association. www.IGAEA.org Our most recent newsletter is on the home page, and our new website is up and running. We currently have 340+ paid members, mostly teachers in the graphic communications areas, and/or our sustaining members from industry.
Each year for the past 84 years, our organization holds an annual conference on a college or university campus. New members have an option of applying for the Paul Von-Holtz Incentive Award to receive full, or impart Conference Registration costs. I have given the link to the current application for our 2010 85th Annual Conference at Illinois State University. http://www.igaea.org/conference-incentive-awards/paul-von-holtz-award
We are ust finalizing the paperwork for the summer of 2011. Appalachian State is to be the 86th annual conference host.
I would be happy to answer any questions you might have about our association.
Sincerely,
Shaun Dudek, President IGAEA
