This is a quick video clip about the history of graphic design. It includes funky music to keep the students interested. I will attached a worksheet to accompany this later (since I do not have access to my files at school)

Title/Affiliation
Graphic Communications Instructor
Dr. James A. Forrest Career & Technology Center
What do you do in the Graphic Communications Industry?
As Instructor of the Graphic Communications program, I develop and implement lesson plans for all areas of a graphic arts and printing curriculum according to the nationally accredited Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation PrintED® program. I create real-world learning experiences to ensure the skills learned in the classroom are marketable in the workplace.
Explain a bit about yourself.
Prior to joining the Forrest Center, I served eleven years as the Manager of Printing and Distribution Services of the National Association of Securities Dealers, operator of The NASDAQ Stock Market. In this capacity, I was responsible for directing the operation of all NASD publishing, and was responsible for evaluating the corporate identification program. Previously, I served as the Visual Information Specialist for the Resolution Trust Corporation, part of the FDIC. During my career, I have also worked as graphic designer, producing award-winning designs for non-profits and university programs.

I have over 20 years experience in corporate communications and am delighted to share it with young adults interested in pursuing careers in the graphic communications industry.
