We agree. The thing is that one way sharing and permanence was what made Science be able to advance. It's the permanence that is the issue. The thing about the web is that it is NOW. The thing about learning is that it is comparing now to then.

Like I said, its the best for one way information sharing.

My argument is that it is exactly the one way dialog that is prints real power. It's a feature not a bug if the issue is to advance knowledge.

I agree and disagree, for specific data such as history or other indisputable facts print is best, but for sharing visions and communicating its just one of many ways. The biggest issue with print is its a one way dialog.

The thing about being connected in real time is a good thing and a bad thing. If the trick is to separate signal from noise, I'll take Print any day. Conversational culture is very neat and very fun. But Print culture is much easier fo transfer and build on scientific - as in logical - thinking. That's how it worked 500 years ago. I think that's how it still works today.

This is a good video. Now micro blogging and Twitter have been added to further make the world connected in real time.

State Contests

It would be hard for each state to match the national contest because of equipment availability and time. A lot of state contests are only one day long and during this time students have orientation, compete, debriefing and the contest must be score for a awards ceremony the same night.See More
